"Wait, what???"

That was my initial reaction when I read that the Kinect for Windows can’t be used on the Xbox 360, and vice versa. Apparently, Microsoft says that in order to use the Kinect on Windows, for commercial use anyways, you have to have a Kinect for Windows, and not a Kinect for Xbox 360… isn’t that clear as mud.

Though apparently it’s not a hardware thing, it’s a license thing, because MS says those who had a beta license for the Kinect for Windows SDK can still use the Kinect for Xbox 360 for non-commercial uses on the PC for the next 3 years; but only because the license has been extended. Nice one Microsoft, nice one…
